Girl, 12, is arrested after sharing a ‘death list’ with classmates’ names on Snapchat and warning they’ll be killed ‘on Monday’

  • Falcon Cove Middle School student made the false threats to kill on Friday 
  • She was taken to Juvenile Assessment Center after another student reported her
  • Same school received another shooting text that day and was under lockdown 

A 12-year-old girl has been arrested after she sent a ‘death list’ with names of fellow students round on Snapchat and threatened to kill them on Monday.  

A fellow Falcon Cove Middle School student and her parent notified officers in the Broward Sheriff’s Office in Weston, Florida, at around 7pm on Friday. 

The girl was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center on Friday and faces two counts of a written threat to kill and false reporting concerning a firearm.

A Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesman said: ‘The threat included a death list with student names from Falcon Cove Middle School. 

‘Another threat was posted to the social media site later Friday afternoon that indicated the students were not safe and that they would be killed on Monday, December 9.’

Detectives from the Threat Management Unit and Real Time Crime Center were able to identify the source of the threats Friday evening. 

The 12-year-old girl confirmed she made the false threats.

The same school received another shooting threat via text and email on Friday, meaning that it and three other schools were put under ‘Code Red’ lockdown until 2pm.  

The schools were Cypress Bay High School, Falcon Cove Elementary School, Manatee Bay Elementary School and Everglades Elementary School, according to a statement released on Twitter from the City of Weston.
