Harry Styles has his crotch grabbed by an eager fan

He has garnered a legion of followers over the years, following his success in boy band One Direction.

But Harry Styles endured an awkward encounter with a fan on Saturday, as his crotch was grabbed during his performance at CBS Radio’s We Can Survive 2017 charity gig in LA.

In a clip shared to Twitter, the 23-year-old is seen immediately pushing a particularly eager fan’s hand away, as they attempted to cop a feel during his performance at the Hollywood Bowl.

Harry put on a typically show-stopping set as he performed for his admirers at the charity event, in a trendy bright red suit and black shirt.

First crooning out a ballad with a guitar in hand, the singer later embarked on more energetic numbers – when the unfortunate incident happened.

In a clip posted to Twitter, the curly-haired singer was seen kneeling at the front of the stage and fist pumping with those on the front row, when one particularly brazen fan reached up to grab his crotch.

Clearly horrified, Harry swiftly batted the advance away and immediately returned to his microphone stand, to continue his energetic performance.

His followers were left outraged by the move, writing beside the footage: ‘A disgusting person grabbed @Harry_Styles’ crotch & he pulled her hands away & stand so fast.’

As another added: ‘TO THE GIRL WHO GRABBED HARRYS PRIVATE PLACES! GO F**K YOURSELF DISGUSTING PIG!’

MailOnline has contacted Harry’s representatives for comment.

Harry performed at CBS’ We Can Survive, held in honour of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, alongside Alessia Cara, Kesha, Lorde, Macklemore, P!nk, Sam Hunt and Sam Smith.

The concert was raising money for Young Survival Coalition –  which provides resources and support for young women diagnosed with the disease.

It is no wonder Harry was chosen to perform at the fundraising event, after finding huge success with his recent solo career.

His self-titled album was released in May, following his debut single Sign Of The Times – which shot to the top spot in the UK charts, and the top 5 over in the States.

Despite finding worldwide fame with One Direction, the singer admitted his own music and the writing process was starkly different to that of the boy band.

He told CBS News: ‘ I wanted it to be honest. And I wanted to love it every time that I played it.

‘It didn’t feel scary to me. I think the idea of making something that I wasn’t 100% behind is much scarier to me.’
