Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner land in Rome to attend Misha Nonoo’s wedding to Mikey Hess

Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner have escaped the daily grind of White House life in order to enjoy a romantic weekend away in Italy, where they are set to attend the wedding of Meghan Markle’s designer pal Misha Nonoo to oil tycoon Mikey Hess.

The White House advisors were pictured strolling hand-in-hand through Rome on Friday morning, shortly after they are thought to have arrived in the city, and just hours before Misha and Mikey are due to tie the knot in front of a host of A-list guests, including outspoken Trump critic Katy Perry and her boyfriend Orlando Bloom.

Despite only being in Rome for a few hours, the couple appear to have settled into their vacation quickly, and looked happy and relaxed as they strolled around the city, with Ivanka, 37, embracing showing her support for local fashion by wearing a $2,695 dress by Italian design duo Dolce & Gabbana.

She paired the patterned frock with some espadrille wedges which tied up around her ankles, and added a pair of sunglasses to the ensemble to shield her eyes from the bright sunshine.

Ivanka also accessorized with a pair of chunky gold hoop earrings that appear to be from Jennifer Fisher – a jeweler beloved by many A-listers, including Jennifer Lopez and Michelle Obama.

Jared, 38, also wore a pair of shades, and he kept the rest of his outfit low-key and casual, wearing just a gray T-shirt and a pair of dark blue pants, finishing the look off with some gray suede sneakers.

It was first reported that Ivanka and Jared would be attending the wedding earlier this week, despite the fact that they are not known to be particularly close friends of the soon-to-be newlyweds.

The couple may well have been introduced to Misha and Mike through Jared’s brother Joshua, 34, who is a close friend of the groom. Both he and his model wife Karlie Kloss are in Rome for the nuptials, and were pictured enjoying dinner with several of the other guests – including Katy and Orlando – on Thursday night.

The couple have a long-standing friendship with Misha and Mikey, who were both thought to have been present for Karlie and Josh’s wedding celebrations in Wyoming earlier this year, and both couples joined billionaire David Geffen on his $200 million yacht this summer.

A number of the other guests who are believed to have been invited to Misha and Mikey’s ceremony are also known to be outspoken Democrats, which could cause some awkwardness when it comes to table plans.

Popstar Katy campaigned for Clinton and has had a lot to say about Ivanka’s father, Donald Trump — though she prefers not to utter his name.

‘I have this rule that I just say “45.” Everything is an energy. Words. Deep energy,’ she told Paper magazine this year.

Speaking to Vogue, she also said: ‘Misogyny and sexism were in my childhood: I have an issue with suppressive males and not being seen as equal. I felt like a little kid again being faced with a scary, controlling guy.’

Katy has tweeted in support of transgender members of the military, the LGBTQ community as a whole, gun violence protesters, and the Women’s March, and last year called Trump’s tweets about the Camp fire in California ‘an absolutely heartless response.’

Their outing in Rome comes less than 24 hours after Ivanka was pictured stepping out of her Washington, D.C. home in a navy blue pinstripe suit on Thursday — as rumors began to circulate that she was headed to Italy to attend the wedding.

The first daughter has been putting on a stylish show this week, and she looked ready for business in a $1,120 double-breasted blazer with white lapels by Racil and a pair of matching $595 wide-leg pants.

She accessorized her nautical look with a white handbag from her now-defunct fashion line and white pumps as she walked out of the front gate of her home headed to work around 9:40 a.m.

Ivanka’s sleek blonde bob was perfectly styled, and her pearl drop earrings could be seen peeking out from underneath her hair.

The White House senior adviser topped off her look with smokey eye makeup and a flattering dusty rose lipstick.

Although the mother-of-three often smiles as waves at the photographers outside her door, she had a blank expression on her face as she made her way to the Secret Service vehicle parked outside of her home.

She left a little over an hour after her husband Jared, who was seen walking out of their front door in a navy suit and blue tie at about 8:15 a.m.

Royal correspondent Emily Andrews tweeted that Prince Harry and Meghan were ‘seen arriving in Rome’ on Thursday ahead of the nuptials, which are set to be held at Europe’s largest film studio, Cinecittà, where the likes of Rossellini and Fellini have worked.

It’s not known whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled by plane, but the report claimed they have left Archie at home and are enjoying some downtime ahead of their 10-day African royal tour, which kicks off on Monday.

Harry and Meghan are unlikely to be the only royals in attendance, with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie among Misha’s close friends. Queen Rania of Jordan is also rumored to be invited to the high-profile event.

Oprah’s BFF Gayle King, who was also invited to the Duchess of Sussex’s baby shower in February. Gayle also attended Misha’s pop-up launch in New York City earlier this month.

This will be the first marriage for Mike and the second for Misha, who was previously wed to Paddle8 founder Alexander Gilkes.

If they are planning to jet off to Rome, they certainly didn’t allow their travel plans to get in the way of their work, in fact, it was business as usual for the couple as they each headed to work on Thursday morning.

The first daughter carried nothing but her white tote, which was stuffed with papers and what looked like a white binder.

On Wednesday, Ivanka was seen leaving the family home modeling a chic $3,260 polka-dot Prada dress, complete with gold button detailing down the front and across the waist.

She accessorized the black and white design with a pair of white pointed-toe heels and a white tote bag, the same accessories she had on this morning.

Not long after leaving her home, Ivanka visited the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington, where she chaired the third American Workforce Policy Advisory Board meeting alongside Department of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

According to information shared by the White House, the advisory board will continue to work on ‘ensuring all Americans can benefit from the nation’s historic economic boom,’ with members also focusing on ‘developing recommendations for bringing more Americans off the sidelines and into the workforce.’

‘Ensuring that the workers of tomorrow have the skills they’ll need to thrive in a rapidly changing economy is a core mission of the White House and our Advisory Board,’ Ivanka said of the meeting.

‘Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a valued partner in our Pledge to America’s Workers, is making critical early investment in our kids as they develop the tools and talents they will need throughout their lives.

‘I’m excited to hear directly from these youth about the wonderful programs they are offered and to meeting with our Board to advance our country’s investment in its greatest resource — the American worker.’

Prior to the official sit-down, members of the Advisory Board — including Barbara Humpton, CEO of Siemens USA; Al Kelly, chairman and CEO of Visa; and Ginni Rometty, chairman, president, and CEO at IBM — were treated to dinner and a special tour of Camp David with Vice President Mike Pence.

This week, Ivanka has made a move away from the floral frocks she has worn on so many occasions throughout the summer. On Tuesday, she oped for a $600 dress by British label Beulah, which had long sleeves and a high, round neckline.

Even the color choice — a dark forest green — was more in keeping with fall trends, as was the subtle plum shade that the first daughter wore on her lips.

However, thanks to the still mild temperatures, Ivanka was able to go without tights, and she even showed off a bit of leg in the Beulah number, which had a split that went up to her mid thigh.

Ivanka even stepped up her accessories game for the day, donning a pair of trendy PVC heels and chunky gold hoop earrings while carrying a Chanel tote in place of the much-loved bag from her own defunct fashion line.

The mother-of-three’s stylish sidewalk moment came just one day after she made another fashionable statement in a very different ensemble.

Indeed, Ivanka flouted traditional fashion rules when she headed to work on Monday morning, donning a pair of white pants — which typically ‘shouldn’t’ be worn after Labor Day.

But despite going against the style grain, she looked incredibly chic as she made her way out of her family home, modeling the ankle-length white pants with a $3,590 chic blue Akris jacket that was belted at the waist and worn over a silk neck scarf.
