Edwardo Zepeda, 36, has been charged with child neglect after his young daughter went missing while he was trying to buy alcohol

A Las Vegas father has been charged with child neglect after his young daughter went missing while he was trying to buy alcohol.

Edwardo Zepeda, 36, is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center over the incident which occurred early Wednesday morning.

According to police, Zepeda brought his four-year-old daughter into a 7-Eleven store on West Charleston Boulevard in downtown Las Vegas at midnight.

A clerk told authorities that the man appeared intoxicated, and tried to purchase alcohol before his bank card declined.

He left the store with his little girl.

However, two hours later, Zepeda returned to the 7-Eleven and asked the clerk ‘ if she had seen his 4-year-old daughter,’ according to The Review Journal.

The clerk called the cops, who immediately launched a frantic search for the girl.

They managed to locate her a short time later, sleeping between two power boxes on South Rancho Drive.

Although the youngster was only 500 meters from the 7-Eleven, she would have had to cross a busy six-lane freeway in order to end up where she was found.

The girl appeared unharmed and in high spirits.

Zepeda was taken into custody, where he was charged with one count of child abuse or neglect.

He will appear in court on Thursday.
