Lily Allen’s husband David Harbour insists the couple’s marriage is ‘so great’ after they were reported to be ‘living separate lives’

Their marriage made headlines earlier this month after the singer unfollowed her husband on social media.

However David Harbour has confirmed he and Lily Allen are still very much in love as he described his marriage as ‘so great’.

Speaking to People, the Stranger Things star, who married the Smile hitmaker in 2020, said that as their relationship continues the pair ‘grow closer and closer’.

The actor, 48, admitted that the SAG-AFTRA acting strikes affected his relationship with his wife as he was no longer going to work.

He confessed: ‘Let me tell you, my wife likes when I go to work because it’s nice for her to have her life and me to have my life and for us not to just annoy each other by being around all the time.’

David admitted he felt himself slipping into depression without his work and likened it to the period during COVID.

He said he felt bad for his wife having to deal with him in that state while she performed the lead role in West End show Pillowman over the summer.

Earlier this month it was reported that the couple were ‘living separate lives’ after fans noticed Lily, 38, had unfollowed her other half.

It was revealed that they had ‘barely seen each other’ over the last three months as a source told The Sun: ‘Lily and David have barely been together for the past three months and have been living separate lives.’

They added: ‘When she was in London for the Pillowman, David was spotted at one performance in July before Lily was left by herself.

‘In her downtime, Lily would be with mates in London or her kids. When she went back to the US with them, there was no sign of David.’

Yet David has now said that the pair’s marriage is continuing to grow and he loves helping raise her two children Ethel, 11, and Marnie, 10, from Lily’s previous relationship with ex-husband Sam Cooper.

The couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary in September, with Lily sharing a photo from their wedding day on Instagram.

The British singer-songwriter shared a photo of the couple all decked out in their wedding outfits moments after making their union legal at the famed Graceland Wedding Chapel in 2020.

Allen was absolutely glowing in a white 1960s-inspired Dior dress with a matching bridal veil that fell down to her back in two layers and black suede heels.

‘3 years with this guy, 2nd best decision I ever made. 1st was that dress,’ she wrote in the caption.

Not long after becoming husband and wife under the laws of Nevada a wedding reception of sorts was held at a local In-N-Out fast food burger joint.
