‘Every driver should be taking care, it could have been a child.’

The couple confronted the driver after the horrific incident and the man passed his details onto them.

But Alicia said he ‘had a smile on his face’ and was ‘laughing and sniggering’ as he did.

Alicia added: ‘We are upset. I am crying a lot after collecting his ashes. I’m having trouble sleeping.’

The couple have now reported the driver to the RSPCA, and they plan to contact the police.

They also sent him the vet’s invoice but have not heard back. Now, they are calling on him to ‘to do the decent thing’ and reimburse them after they had to cremate their pet and bring his ashes home.

‘We as a family are broken,’ said Robin.
