And Phillip Phillips was overjoyed to share the news on Instagram that his wife Hannah Blackwell gave birth to their first child, a son named Patch Shepherd.
The 29-year-old musician posted a photo looking over his little boy as he rested peacefully on a blanket with stuffed animals nearby.

‘Sunday morning our little boy made a fast entrance into the world. I cried more than he did,’ the Georgia native wrote. ‘Hannah was an absolute rockstar in delivery and she has been such an amazing mom these last four days.’
Hannah and Phillip tied the knot at the Resora Plantation in Albany, Georgia, on Oct. 24, 2015 after getting engaged the day after Christmas the year before.

‘Phillip and Hannah sittin’ in a tree,’ he captioned the snap. ‘K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in the baby carriage this fall!’
She later shared that despite the happy news, she’s had ‘anything but a farytale pregnancy’ while carrying her little boy.
‘We’ve spent lots of time worried, in pain, or being regulars at the doctor,’ she shared. ‘Not once has this guy complained. In fact, he has just leaned into our love more. We have been through more than anyone will ever know in 10 years, but this journey has been such a mental and physical test for me.’
