Princess Martha Louise of Norway’s ex-husband Ari Behn has been remembered as the ‘craziest, most beautiful, strongest human’ by his girlfriend, after he killed himself on Christmas Day.    

Ebba Rysst Heilman, 35, posted a black and white selfie as she beamed and giggled with Ari on Instagram and paid tribute to her boyfriend, who took his own life last week.

The two are believed to have dated since 2017, a year after the father-of-three separated from Princess Martha Louise, 48, whom he was married to for 15 years. 

Sharing the emotional post online, Ebba suggested tears were ‘gushing’, saying: ‘Now your heart has found peace, but it will always beat strongly in my body.’

Sharing a post with her 6,000 Instagram followers, Ebba wrote: ‘You are the craziest, most beautiful, strongest, complex human being. 

‘I’m always with you, my beloved Ari. And I know you are with me for the rest of my life and care and cheer for me until we meet again.

‘I know you took care of me until the end. I am eternally grateful that I got to be so close to you.’

She continued: ‘Forever grateful that you let me take care of you and feel your heart beat every single night of all our days. Now your heart is at rest, but it will always beat strongly in my body.

‘Fortunately, you knew all this and how much I loved you because I told you every single day.

‘I’ll do everything I promised you to do as you made me think I can. I’ll write so ink and tears splash.

It comes after it emerged that Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has reportedly cancelled all her festive plans and travelled to Norway to support her close friend Princess Martha Louise after her ex-husband killed himself last week.

The Swedish royal, 42, is lifelong friends with Princess Martha, 48, whose husband of 15 years and the father of her three children Ari Behn took his life on Christmas Day. 

According to Swedish magazine Svensk Damtidning, Victoria, who usually celebrates the New Year in the Alps or the Norwegian mountains, has cancelled her plans to be with Martha and will be by her side for Ari’s private funeral on Friday. 

Following the news, Victoria and her husband Daniel, 46, released a statement, saying they had been ‘greatly saddened’ to hear of Ari’s passing.

Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Martha are believed to have been close friends for years, having known each other since childhood. 

In the statement, the Swedish royal couple said: ‘It is with great sadness we received news of Ari Behn’s death. We will remember Ari as the warm, cordial and spiritual man he was.

They went on: ‘It was a privilege to get to know Ari. Our thoughts are with his daughters and family.’

Ari killed himself just a year after admitting he felt like a ‘clown’ following the divorce from the Norwegian royal.

His funeral is said to be scheduled for January 3 at 1 pm in Oslo’s cathedral, with services to be conducted by the bishop of Oslo, Kari Veiteberg, according to People magazine. 

Ari and Martha Louise’s first daughter, Maud Angelica, was born in 2003, their second daughter Leah Isadora in 2005, and their third daughter, Emma Tallulah, in 2008. 

He separated from the fourth in line to the Norwegian throne in 2017, after the pair said they had ‘grown apart’.

Tributes have flooded in for Ari since his death was announced by the Royal Palace in Oslo, Norway.

His ex-wife’s parents Harald V and Queen Sonja have said their family is ‘grieving’ after losing the children’s ‘dear father’ and that they carry ‘warm, fond memories of him’.

‘We grieve that our grandchildren have lost their dear father, and have deep compassion for his parents and siblings, who now have lost their dear son and brother,’ they said.
