Scarlett Johansson, 38, praises Pamela Anderson, 56, for going makeup-free: ‘It’s a powerful message to see women rejecting standard beauty norms’

Scarlett Johansson recently shared kind words toward Pamela Anderson for her choice to stop wearing makeup.

The 38-year-old silver screen siren — who also shared how she stays trim — spoke with PopSugar and lauded Anderson, 56, for embracing her natural beauty.

‘I think it is definitely different to see somebody that’s in the public eye, a woman in the public eye, go to a fashion show or big event with no makeup on. It’s just very different from what we’re used to,’ Johansson stated.

It comes after the former Baywatch beauty attended Paris Fashion Week events sans cosmetics.

Scarlett added, ‘It’s a powerful message for women to see that, whether they follow suit or whatever the effect is, in the zeitgeist. It’s powerful for women to see other women rejecting standard beauty norms.’

Jamie Lee Curtis, 64, has also given kudos to Anderson, in recent weeks.

Taking to Instagram earlier this month, she shared bare-faced photos of the mother-of-two, who shares two sons with ex-husband Tommy Lee.

In a caption to her 5.5 million followers, she wrote: ‘THE NATURAL BEAUTY REVOLUTION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!’

She added, ‘@pamelaandeson in the middle of fashion week with so many pressures and postures, and and and, this woman showed up and claimed her seat at the table with nothing on her face.’

The note finished, ‘I am so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion.’

The post has so far racked up more than 888,000 likes from agreeing fans.

Then, on October 6, Curtis uploaded a second post singing Pamela’s praises.

The Halloween actress shared behind-the-scenes outtakes of Anderson from her Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story in which she discussed her currented perspective on beauty.

In the clips, Pamela professed: ‘I’m not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room. I feel like it’s just freedom. It’s like… a relief. I don’t need a stylist. Like, I don’t have a stylist. I don’t have a glam team. I’m just kind of doing this freestyle.’

Curtis captioned the post, ‘FREEDOM IS BEAUTIFUL!’

In August, the blonde pinup shared with Elle magazine that her perspective on beauty changed after the death of her makeup artist Alexis Vogel, who passed away from breast cancer in 2019.

‘[Alexis] was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup,’ she explained. She called the act ‘freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too.’
