Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran shows off her incredible $15 MILLION New York City penthouse

Shark Tank investor Barbara Corcoran has opened the doors to her $15 million dollar penthouse overlooking New York City while sharing the incredible story of how she fell in love with the two-story apartment over two decades ago.

The businesswoman, 73, gave TikTok star Caleb Simpson a tour of her not-so-humble abode on the Upper East Side for his viral video series exploring interesting living spaces in the Big Apple, which he has dubbed ‘this generation’s MTV Cribs.’

The Corcoran Group founder explained that she was working part-time as a messenger in the early 1990s when she first laid eyes on the four-bedroom, seven-bath apartment.

‘I delivered a package,’ she recalled. ‘I saw the view out of her door right there, and I said, “If you ever sell this, ma’am, would you sell it to me?” She called me 26 years later.’

Corcoran, who sold her real estate brokerage for $66 million in 2001, shared that she has been living in her dream home for the past four years.

She noted that she owns the penthouse, but she still has to pay a hefty maintenance fee of $10,000 per month to live in the building.

The real estate mogul started the tour in the massive living room on the first floor, where she has a fireplace, a large white couch, white chairs, and some of her workout equipment.

‘I call this the living room, but the truth is I don’t know what this is,’ she admitted. ‘If you have any ideas, I’ll take [them].’

After seeing the spacious walkway near the stairs, Simpson jokingly suggested she put in an indoor pool.

‘Could I get away with it?’ she asked.

The downstairs also features a large walk-in butler’s pantry and a child’s bedroom, though she never specified who stays there.

The room, which boasts its own bathroom, is painted yellow and has a large Pokémon decal above the bed.

Corcoran has two children — Tom Higgins, 28, and Kate Higgins, 17 — with her husband, Bill Higgins, a retired Navy captain and FBI agent.

The self-made millionaire, who grew up in a working-class family in Edgewater, New Jersey, then headed upstairs, which is primarily where she spends her time.

‘This is the living room I use. It’s really a library,’ she said of the space.

Corcoran then stepped outside to the terrace, and while the view is out of this world, she pointed out that she has been dealing with ongoing construction.

‘I’ve lived here for years, and I haven’t had a terrace [for] more than a month. It’s so sad, but I still eat here among the scaffolding,’ she said, pointing to her outdoor table.

However, there was one portion of her terrace outside of the guest bedroom that remained untouched.

The businesswoman noted that she has been living in the penthouse for four years, but she has only had her terrace free of construction scaffolding for a total of one month

Corcoran quickly breezed through the guest bedroom, which is painted blue and boasts a chandelier, and headed to her incredible kitchen.

The sunshine-filled space was originally a greenhouse that she transformed during her expansive renovations.

‘Who wouldn’t love this kitchen, right? I love it,’ she gushed. ‘I sit here every day and think to myself, “How lucky am I?” Never, ever, did I think I would have such a pretty kitchen.’

Simpson pointed out that all of the rooms on the second floor connect, an architectural detail that she said makes it a ‘great party floor.’

Corcoran continued the tour in her mostly white bedroom, which also has spectacular views from the windows.

‘You better rank my view,’ she joked after letting Simpson hop on her bed.

The mother of two looked particularly thrilled when she opened the door to the cabinet holding all of her shoes.

The tour ended when Simpson announced Corcoran was kicking him out.

‘You were already in my bed. What else do you want?’ she asked.

The video has been viewed more than 24.2 million times in one day, and thousands of people took to the comments to share their thoughts.

‘It’s stories like her where I say she deserves everything she has worked for. She started at rock bottom, huge inspiration,’ one person wrote.

‘She dropped off a package, [fell] in love with the apartment, [and 26 years] later she bought it,’ another added. ‘That’s the right way of manifesting.’

‘Barbara is an icon and her place is (no surprise here) iconic!!!!!’ someone else gushed.

Simpson shared in the comments that the savvy investor paid $10 million for the penthouse and spent another $5 million renovating it.

In 2018, Corcoran opened up about her dream home in an interview with People, saying ‘it’s like living on top of the world.’ However, she admitted there were some touch-and-go moments during the two-year renovation.

‘The renovation process is exactly like going through labor. But just like having a child, after it’s born, you forget the pain,’ she explained. ‘It was horrific. I thought I was capable of running a construction job. In hindsight, I really had no business because I also have this very big day job.’
