Susan Lucci, 77, is luminous with youthful energy as she turns up glam factor at disability charity gala

Susan Lucci was luminous with youthful energy at 77 as she attended a disability charity gala in New York this Wednesday.

The soap opera icon was agelessly glamorous as she strutted her stuff in front of the cameras at Cipriani 42nd Street in Midtown.

She was a showstopping presence at the 2024 ADAPT Leadership Awards, benefiting a nonprofit with a focus on the disabled.

For her latest public appearance, Susan draped her impressively lithe frame in a strapless party dress with a Beetlejuice chic black and white motif.

Her swanky frock was cinched in to emphasize her enviably petite waistline and taut midriff, and was cut high enough to hint at her vertiginous legs.

Balancing expertly on a towering pair of metallic-accented stilettos, she swept her walnut brown hair into a towering beehive reminiscent of the 1960s.

Her radiant complexion, which appeared to be next to completely untouched by the vicissitudes of age, was sharpened with elegant makeup.

The 5’1″ actress, who racked up a staggering 21 Daytime Emmy nominations but only won once in a competitive category, modeled a set of drop earrings.

Last year, Susan added another Daytime Emmy to her roster with a Lifetime Achievement gong that came four decades into her run on All My Children.

Susan is one of the honorary co-chairs of Wednesday’s gala, along with such names as television anchors Rosanna Scotto and Willie Geist.

Among the several honorees that evening was New York Islanders co-owner Jon Ledecky, Craig Melvin of the Today show and sportscaster Lindsay Czarniak.

Although Susan shows scant external signs of her advancing age, she has been candid about suffering heart problems in recent years.

Within the last half-decade alone she has had to undergo two heart operations, and as a result she has made changes to her eating habits.

In a recent interview with Fox News, she dished that there are three specific ‘superfoods’ she includes in her daily intake – kale, salmon and blueberries.

She explained that she adheres to a Mediterranean diet, adding: ‘I do have the occasional pasta and carbs. But the key is moderation.’

Nearly two years ago Susan suffered the loss of her husband, Austrian chef Helmut Huber, who died aged 84 after 52 years of marriage.

‘My husband was an executive chef trained in Europe,’ Susan recalled while explaining the recent alterations she has made to her diet.

I remember I would eat everything that he was cooking. It was like monopoly food, and I did build up cholesterol,’ she confessed.

Now, she tries to steer clear of high-cholesterol fare, but as she insisted: ‘It’s not about being trendy, it’s about being your best self.’
