‘We had just checked out at 9.30am and hopped in our car, looked up to the room we had been staying in and saw the cleaner ‘cleaning’,’ she said.

A motel spokeswoman said using sheets was ‘definitely not’ standard practice to wipe down condensation on windows.

‘We use old rags from old towels that have been cut up,’ she said.

The motel had looked into the incident and found using the bed sheet to clean the window was a ‘one-off’.
