Australian comedian Jim Jefferies reveals he secretly wrote jokes for Brad Pitt to use during awards season: ‘It’s easy because everyone loves him’
Jim Jefferies has revealed he is Brad Pitt’s secret weapon when it comes to killer jokes.
The Australian comedian wrote gags for the Hollywood superstar to tell during the 2020 awards season.
‘[Brad Pitt] has been very good to me… and so I wrote him a couple of gags for some award shows’ the 46-year-old tells this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine.
‘It’s not like writing jokes for me. The best jokes to write are self-deprecating jokes. Writing self-deprecating jokes for Brad Pitt is easy because everyone loves him.’
He went on: ‘He’s so handsome, so you just write jokes about having women want to sleep with [him] or whatever. I could never write those jokes for myself.

‘There was one joke he did at – I think it was the Golden Globes – which was, “I wanted to bring my mum to this awards show but I couldn’t bring her because every woman I stand next to, the media thinks I’m sleeping with her.”
‘He goes, ‘Will people laugh at that?” I said “Yeah.” It was just fun to see that’.
The funnyman, whose stand-up routines have caused controversy in the past, has previously said that he has made so many problematic jokes he is cancel-proof.
‘It’s very hard to cancel someone who’s got 40, 50 stupid things he said that he could have been cancelled for,’ he told The Daily Telegraph.

He also noted the distinction between haters who actively seek to cancel public figures and his many genuine fans, who enjoy his style of comedy.
‘You can’t live your life worrying like that, and let’s face facts here – you’re only cancelled for the people who want to cancel you,’ he explained.
‘The people who still like you, still like you. And, look, I’m at a stage of life where I’m like, “Alright, whatever.”‘
The outspoken TV star has called America home for more than 10 years.
