Neighbours teases thrilling storylines in new trailer as fans praise the soap for ‘upping the quality’ ahead of new season on Amazon Prime

The new trailer for the upcoming season of Neighbours has dropped and it promises drama. 

The long running Australian soap opera, which returns in September, is set two years after the events in the season finale last year. 

The trailer sees Byron Stone (Xavier Molyneux) spark up a romance with mysterious new character Reece Sinclair (Mischa Barton). 

The path to their romance does not run smooth, with Byron accusing Renee of ‘keeping secrets’. 

Sadie Rodwell (Emerald Chan) is seen up to something around Lassiters hotel, while new character Haz Devkar (Shiv Palekar) is seen enjoying a romance with Mackenzie Hargreaves (Georgie Stone). 

Elsewhere, a huge wedding is teased, but who is walking down the aisle has not yet been revealed. 

Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) is also seen mourning lost love, Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou). 

It’s clear time has passed as Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) promises ‘a lot has happened’ since the finale episode. 

Some fans have noted that the show appears to have a bigger budget, with one person writing, ‘New promo looks like they’re focusing a lot more on some beach scenes and city scenery. 

‘Also looks like the lighting, location shooting and set filming has been upped in quality.’

The new chapter of the hit Australian drama will launch on Prime Video Australia and New Zealand on Monday, September 25.

In Australia, Network 10 will retain first-run rights for the series, and episodes will be available ad-free on Prime Video seven days later. 

Internationally, Neighbours will be available on Amazon Freevee in the UK and the U.S, and Prime Video in Canada, Ireland and South Africa. 

The continuation of the long-running soap series about the lives, loves, and challenges of the residents on Ramsay Street in Erinsborough, follows the finale in 2022, which was watched by millions of adoring fans. 

Previous seasons of Neighbours, as well as many iconic episodes, are currently available to stream on Prime Video.
