Ulrika Jonsson claims Jennifer Lopez is setting an ‘unrealistic expectation’ with racy nude snaps

Ulrika Jonsson has accused Jennifer Lopez of setting an ‘unrealistic expectation’ with her raunchy nude snaps after the star stripped naked to promote her new single.

The presenter, 53, confessed she’s battled with insecurities after seeing snaps of stars including J-Lo and Jennifer Aniston, both 51, who both open flaunt their gym-toned physiques.

Ulrika claimed that stars stripping off set an unfair standard on their fans that they have to be in shape to appear attractive, adding that even her daughter Bo sees social media as ‘toxic.’

Writing in a piece for The Sun, Ulrika admitted she believes Jennifer’s decision to share snaps of her gym-toned physique is doing damage to her fans as it creates an unfair view of the ideal body.

She said: ‘As a mum of four — two of whom are young girls aged 16 and 20 — I’m painfully worried about what the effect of being surrounded by these images is doing to them and their sense of self-worth.

‘They may pretend to me that they are savvy and aware of filters and that these images are sometimes considerably distanced from reality, but I also know that, deep down, they will look in the mirror or at the selfie they take and feel utterly inconsequential.’

Ulrika added that her daughter Bo, 20, said even she doesn’t like social media as it creates such a toxic environment.

The star said while she enjoys interacting with fans on Instagram, she can see how the unrealistic ideal could have such a damaging effect on older women.

Ulrika has never shied away from depicting her life stripped of any filters or glamour, and is praised for openly sharing snaps of her makeup free complexion.

She added: ‘When I looked at the gorgeous Jennifer Aniston a couple of days ago I found myself asking what my excuses were for not looking like that.’

Ulrika insisted she still has much bigger priorities then staying in shape, and she takes comfort in knowing plenty of other woman will agree with her.

On Monday she also took to Instagram to share a snap of herself posing completely makeup-free.

In the image, the star was seen reclining in a dimly-lit room with her flaxen tresses worn straight and sleek as she gazed at the camera for her closeup.

Captioning the image, she wrote: ‘Better? No one scared any more by a knackered mum without make-up who enjoys rum upon occasion? Even knackered-er tonight. And anaemic. Other than that. Soldiering on. #aunaturel.’

The star gestured towards her face as she said in the clip: ‘So no makeup, no shizz. I’ve decided I’m going to become a prolific Instagram poster-er [sic]. I’m not gonna curate my posts. I’m just gonna put it out there so bleurgh. How ’bout that?’

Last month, Ulrika shared a naked selfie post, writing that she was ‘reclaiming her body’, but added: ‘Reclaiming my mind is taking a bit more time.’

Detailing her decision to post the snap in her column for The Sun two days later, she said: ‘It was neither pre-planned nor especially well thought out. And it seems to have touched a nerve because the response was considerable.’

Ulrika explained that she didn’t post a more ‘explicit’ or ‘outrageous’ naked snap for the sake her children, though she was quick to point out that she didn’t care if they were concerned about the photo.

Addressing her four children, Cameron, 26, Bo, 20, Martha, 16, and Malcom, 12, she went on: ‘For the record, children, I honestly don’t care much for your embarrassment. My body, my rules.

‘The intention behind the post was not to offend, outrage, challenge or disturb. It was a note to myself – a reminder that for all that my body has endured, I now need to reclaim it and do something I’ve never really done before: Own it.’
